My ex and I used a mediator and Zach handled the legal aspects of our divorce filing. His team reviewed our docs, pointed out specific areas that were likely to catch the judge's attention, and made sure that we had good answers to those items. They worked closely with the mediator to ensure a smooth process. There was no unnecessary redlining of the document, no pushiness. Just a very mature and supportive approach. And in court, it was the same: I knew what to expect at every moment, which made the anxiety-producing process far more manageable.

I hired Zach Williams to handle my divorce. He did an excellent job, returned my calls and emails very quickly, and was very efficient. Zach understands when to approach a case collaboratively, and when to be tough. He is highly experienced and has practiced in this area of law for 20+ years. I would definitely recommend him.

Unflappable and directed, Zach brings a common-sense approach to the courtroom and keeps your case moving forward. Entering his 24th year as a family law advocate, Zach spent 16 years as an Assistant Public Guardian for Cook County before beginning his private practice in 2011.
Zach has represented children in highly contested child custody matters in the Domestic Relations Division and represented children who were state wards in the Juvenile Child Protection Division. Zach is an experienced trial attorney and advocate for the rights of children who are caught in the middle of contested battles. His awareness of how a case can affect an overall family unit has made him a go-to representative for judges appointing attorneys in the most difficult cases.
Zach brings these skills handling child custody matters to private parties. Because of his history as a child representative, Zach is astutely aware of how cases affect children. His experience has provided him with unique insight into how to resolve even the most combative cases: Zach has been a speaker for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and at the annual Life Span Symposium on Domestic Violence.
