As a relationship coach−guiding people through all stages of relationship and sometime through the difficulties of divorce−I look to team up with attorneys whose approach and values are consistent with the long term positive outcomes desired by and for my clients. Traci Capistrant is just such a resource. She is dedicated to her client's emotional as well as legal needs and does not hesitate to invite me and other professionals to work together for the client's ultimate outcome−emerging from the divorce process intact, with the right resources, able to parent consistently and well, and with the necessary foresight to build a new life beyond divorce. Traci is a solid, smart, and compassionate family law professional. I highly recommend her to you and your clients.
Traci is a fine and compassionate family law attorney. I highly recomend her. She is an excellent trial attorney as well as mediator - an unbeatable combination.
Life transitions surrounding parenthood, divorce, or remarriage can be traumatic. When possible, the adversarial aspects of the legal process should be minimized to reduce the impact on those involved. Traci Capistrant has focused her practice on Family Law for over 29 years. As a part of her family law practice, Traci has handled everything from simple, straightforward divorces, to complex custody and financial litigation in cases involving custody, third-party custody, paternity, dissolution, post decree enforcement, step-parent adoption, child support enforcement/modification, parenting time and custody disputes, and a myriad of other issues that arise in a family situation. While a fierce advocate for her clients, Traci has resolved cases through both settlement and the formal trial process. Her focus is on finding a resolution that fits her client’s needs, giving them hands-on input in their case, and brings them dignity in the process. So many aspects of a family law matter are heart-wrenching and stressful. Anger, sadness, confusion, feelings of betrayal, and distrust can overtake the process making it difficult for a party to focus on their true needs. Traci empathetic approach helps her clients wade through those feelings, while protecting and advocating for them when they are not always able to do so for themselves. She uses several different methods to get to a resolution for her clients, including Cooperative Practice, early neutral evaluations, mediation, and if needed, litigation. While she can be an aggressive advocate, Traci also works very well with opposing counsel and the courts to avoid high attorney fees and costs, whenever possible.
A 1988 cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, Traci has been named in the Super Lawyers list since 2002. She is a volunteer with VLN, a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral, and a Social Early Neutral Evaluator for Anoka, Sherburne, Hennepin, Ramsey, & Washington Counties.
