I was very fortunate to have Shawn O’Neil as my attorney. He came highly recommended. Shawn is the type of lawyer everyone should have on their legal matter especially if the case may end up in court. Shawn is extremely experienced, diligent, and compassionate when protecting his client’s civil rights and legal interests. He strategically plans each and every step of the representation while always two steps ahead of the opposing party’s attorney. He is hardworking, responsive to his client’s questions, always prepared, and very accessible. Shawn zealously represents his clients with a high degree of professionalism and integrity. I was recently represented by Shawn Michael Oneil on an Auto accident Case. My case was a difficult one at best. However, I can personally attest to the fact that this attorney went to all lengths to get me the most money and go above and beyond, equal but not limited to, what his status as an Attorney holds. This man is diligent and highly aggressive in a firm but professional manner. Mr. Oneil has many years of experience and when he expresses these claims of experience, though impressive, they pale in comparison to his actual abilities to far exceed the expected outcome of these qualifications. In conclusion this is a "one of a kind" Attorney that has gone above and beyond on a personal as well as a professional level for me and my family. I highly recommend him as a number one, top choice!!

Shawn was a Senior Assistant Attorney General and Attorney in Charge in the Trial Division at the Oregon Department of Justice. He helped defend my agency in several complex cases. He was a strong advocate, strategic thinker, and very effective in negotiating settlements especially in highly charged cases. Shawn has been an exceptional mentor and role model. After only a few minutes of meeting him it became very clear that he was actively engaged in understanding my questions and genuinely invested in my success and happiness. About
Shawn has been a trial attorney for over 26 years. He began his career as a Deputy District Attorney prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases, before entering private practice. He became a partner at the Portland civil litigation firm Mitchell, Lang & Smith. Shawn was later appointed Senior Assistant Attorney General by Attorney General Hardy Meyers serving in the Oregon Department of Justice's Trial Division. He was appointed Attorney In Charge of the Civil Litigation Section by Attorney General John Kroger. In this role, he was responsible for leading the largest section of the Trial Division, overseeing the jury trial attorneys who defended the State of Oregon's institutions in state and federal court. Shawn continued to carry a case load in this role. He would remain in this leadership position under Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum's administration. Shawn received two Excellence in Justice Awards from his superiors while serving the Department.After serving under three Attorney Generals, Shawn left the Department of Justice to lead SAIF Corporation's Third Party Team. The team was in charge of securing reimbursement from individuals and corporations responsible for injuring Oregon workers. Under Shawn's leadership, the team secured the largest annual recovery in the company's 100-year history compensating injured workers while reimbursing their employers for the expenses incurred as the result of the worker's injuries. After public service, Shawn returned to private practice in 2014 forming O'Neil Law LLC in Wilsonville, Oregon. The majority of his practice is representing individuals in Elder Financial Abuse, Employment, Personal Injury, Consumer Protection, and Governmental Affairs.
