I graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas with Honors in Psychology in 2001. After graduation I taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Language Arts at the Alief Learning Center in Houston, Texas. My students were considered “at-risk” meaning they were instructed to go to the alternative school campus due to behavior problems at their home schools. Although being offered a continued position with the school district, I pursued law school with a goal in mind to reach out to such “at-risk” youth in the future. I attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas and started my law practice in November 2009.
At that time, the most unique elements of my practice included the necessary legal support and education about the criminal and juvenile justice system in Texas.
In 2014 I transitioned out of law and pursued a role in educational administration seeking to be part of a preventative solution for people like the clients I served in juvenile and criminal law practice. This journey took me to Rochester, New York . Being away from Houston in a new city ranked top 10 for the arts & creative women business owners inspired me.  I worked as an Assistant Principal at a charter school in one of the most challenging parts of the city while founding Rosewater Rituals by Shadi,  my vlog Modern Day Love Story & officiating weddings see Rosewater Rituals.
Encouraged by the needs of the couples I marry and artists around me, I am combining Rosewater Rituals with law practice, serving in areas of estate planning, wills, artist contracts and family law.
