I came to Scott's office very skeptical of attorneys due to more than 1 previous encounters with hiring an attorney. I'm sure Scott saw me as a challenge although I believe my case was relatively simple because liability on the other persons part was never in question. Scott and his staff worked with me throughout the process and we eventually settled my case and he restored my faith in attorneys once again. Should I ever have a need for his services again I would not hesitate to hire him. Not to mention refer others to him for representation to someone else. Thanks Scott

After being in a car accident, I went to two separate attorneys and both of the attorneys told me that they felt the case was too insignificant and therefore they could not help me. I then went to Scott Hoy, who was very positive and helpful with my case. Scott did say that because the impact that happened to my car was minor, that it would take more time and effort but he would do what he could to help me. It did take several years but Scott did not give up and we were awarded a settlement. I am so grateful to Scott for his help and also to his staff and his wife. I felt very comfortable talking to them about the issues in regard to my case. I would highly recommend Scott Hoy for anyone needing an excellent attorney. That you, Scott!

Scott is a life-long resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is married and has six children and grandchildren. Scott enjoys playing keyboard and singing with his band, Keplers Theory. He also shares his music in contemporary worship services. Scott is proud to be a Mason.
Scott G. Hoy is the owner of Hoy Trial Lawyers. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1981 and his Juris Doctor in 1984 at the University of South Dakota. He was admitted to the South Dakota State Bar in 1984. Between 2008 and 2010 Scott did extensive training to graduate from the Trial Lawyers College, which is run by world renowned Trial Lawyer, Gerry Spence. Hoy Trial Lawyers is recognized by US News and World Reports as one of the best Law Firms. US News and World Report published an article featuring Hoy Trial Lawyers in September of 2009 called “Bringing Experience to the Table”.
Scott has over 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer and his accomplishments are extensive. He has tried cases in state and federal courts and with the department of labor. He has extensive appeal experience before the South Dakota Supreme Court and the Federal Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, Second Judicial Bar Association, South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, Trial Lawyers College, Top 100 Lawyers, American Bar Association, American Association for Justice and the Insurance Bad Faith Trial Lawyers Association.
