After calling several other lawyers in the area for help filing for VA Pension, I finally made contact with Scott. Scott made me feel important, spoke professionally and was the most knowledgeable lawyer in the Veterans issues. I appreciate all Scott did for me, because God knows I am no longer to file on my own behalf. Thanks again Scott!!!
Scott Akin is an editor with an unusual skill set. He is particularly knowledgeable about military affairs, Eastern European politics and legal issues. He is also a good writer, a skilled designer and deeply knowledgeable about technology. As a supervisor, he is good about letting people know if they are missing things they should be catching — a duty all supervisors should be performing, but one that many avoid. He is particularly valuable in an office setting because of his organizational skills and his willingness to reach out to newer colleagues and make them feel part of the group. And no description of Scott is complete without mentioning his sharp intelligence and skill with one-liners.
Scott and I worked together when Scott was a contract editor at Netware Solutions. Scott was an excellent reporter and editor who distilled complex technological concepts into readable and useful feature and news articles. Scott was an experienced manager as well and a valued member of the editorial department.

R Scott Akin worked in a high-tech trade publishing company where he had to breach proprietary technical knowledge barriers under strict deadlines to produce attractive, readable, publications in markets up to 25,000 subscrivers in each publication. He met his deadlines, his copy was well organized, and his "storytelling" skills were compelling. I was proud of his work at PCI, but I am astounded at his successes after leaving PCI. Good jos, Scott. -30-
I have known Scott for about three years. After retirement from Rutgers, I enrolled at Concord Law School, where we interacted as class-mates, and "adversaries" in a moot court environment. I know Scott as an honest and conscientious professional, a convincing orator, and an impeccable writer. Indeed, Scott's writing skills are among the best I have encountered in some 45 years of professional life as a professor, researcher, and myself a writer. I have no doubt that Scott will measure up to any of his peers in his immediate professional and work environment, and will be of utmost utility to his associates and employer. I highly recommend him, without any reservation. Les SEPLAKI, PhD JD
Scott has a sharp eye, a very wide base of knowledge and expertise in legal and international issues that inform his writing and editing. He also performs well in a managerial role.
Scott was a joy to work with at the News Service -- he was always professional and great at the details, and at spotting holes in stories. So great that I knew when he called or e-mailed when I was back at my home desk in the newsroom, I could count on him to be saving us from a mistake.
I worked with Scott for nine years at the New York Times News Service, and in that time I came to know him not just as dedicated journalist but also as a friend. He is quick to take in "the big picture" and can spot a hole in a story a mile away. Scott is well-read, witty and widely traveled, and he often enjoyed playing the role of devil's advocate in discussions among our colleagues. I could always count on him for candid advice. It would be a pleasure to work with Scott again.
Scott is a delight to work with. He has a keen eye for ways to improve things, and is a wonderfully personable colleague. His sharp wit keeps things lively, too.
