About

I help businesses and their legal departments reduce their liabilities, navigate complex legal matters and defend unavoidable litigation in federal and state court. My clients and their businesses are always my top priority. Accessibility and communication are cornerstones of my practice. I pride myself on hard work and cost-effective representation. I have represented public and private companies and their employees in a wide range of business disputes, including cases alleging contract, products liability, business tort, toxic tort, fraud, and constitutional claims. My cases have included litigation related to mergers and acquisitions, employment laws, securities laws and banking laws. I also defend personal injury and premises liability cases. I believe that all cases, especially high stakes cases in which an appeal is inevitable, should be tried with an appeal in mind. As both a trial and appellate practitioner, I bring a perspective to my cases informed by my two-year clerkship with the Chief Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. As part of my commitment to staying up to date on developments in the law, I am the author of the blog The Fast Five on Rhode Island Appellate Practice (www.RIAppeals.com), which provides periodic updates on Rhode Island appellate law and pointers for practice before the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
