✅ Accurate profile (2 sources)
I spoke to Monica to see if she can help/give an advice with my case. She was very professional and took time to ask for more info to give me the best advice, not pushy all and tried to find the best way in the situation. Thank you very much
I was referred to Ms. Crooms by another attorney to help me. Monica was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I wish there were more people like her. I highly recommend her for anyone needing an immigration lawyer.
You couldn't ask for a better employee. Hard-working, meticulous, and never without a smile or a kind word. Any firm would be lucky to have Monica.
Rarely do I meet someone so readily able to juggle their talents and duties to such a productive degree. Monica was one of the most prolific English Teachers working for the Peace Corps in Albania, as well as a person often called upon to help both the Business and Health groups with projects. Her knowledge of Albanian culture and language is extensive and particularly impressive due to the fact that given the exact same learning opportunities, of the 38 of us, she was one of the hands-down best. She is one of the Volunteers I served with that I have the most respect for. Beyond her work she was also one of the people I looked forward to simply having a coffee with because in addition to everything stated above, she's also an engaging conversationalist.
Monica is the daughter of a Guatemalan mother who inspires her help others navigate the complicated immigration processes in the United States. Her experiences working with victims of torture and human trafficking solidified her desire to become an immigration attorney after law school.
After spending two years in Albania as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer, Monica attended the University of California, Davis School of Law. As a student practitioner in the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic, she was privileged to serve indigent clients in removal proceedings in the San Francisco Immigration Court. In 2012, she received the University of California Human Rights Fellowship for her work providing immigration relief to victims of trafficking and torture at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. In 2013 she received the Lorenzo Patiño Award for Service to the Community based on her dedication to public interest legal work during law school.
Before joining U.S. Immigration Law Group, LLP, Monica managed a solo practice representing the diverse immigrant population in Southern California. In 2017 and 2018, Monica was included on the Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars for her work in immigration law. Monica focuses her practice in providing removal defense before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, applications for asylum, VAWA relief, and family based petitions.
Monica is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Albanian.
