Mike isn't your typical Lawyer. He helped me with my divorce and I found him to be personable and compassionate (though he does have a firm, aggressive undertone to his work - which I appreciated). I left my marriage well taken care of and was able to avoid the harsh legal battle that other lawyers were chomping at the bit for. I felt comfortable asking him questions and he kept me informed every step of the way. If you're looking for a smooth divorce experience, Mike's your guy.

We thought that we were all set as we had wills and medical advocates in place however learned that what we thought would happen when we were no longer here and what would happen were not the same. We were not as prepared as we thought that we were. Michael Toburen easily helped us navigate the difficult process of ensuring that we left our family in the best possible position when we are no longer here or if in a regrettable incapacitated situation. The process was as comfortable as it could be and we found Michael to be very personable and trustworthy. Mike took the time to explain everything to us and although we modified our documents several times along the way, he was insistent that we take the time (as many modifications as we needed and no extra charge!) to ensure that we had things documented the way we wanted them to be. We have recommended him to several of our friends and family and will continue to do so.

I graduated from Hope College in Holland, began my professional career in Kalamazoo, and attended law school in Grand Rapids.
