While I was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, Michael Fourte acted on my behalf - pro bono to handle an illegal claim from a landlord and resolved a false eviction notification. He wrote letters on my behalf and I was able to maintain my focus on fighting the Global War on Terrorism.
Mike represented me in evicting tenants who stopped paying rent. He was fast and efficient. My only regret is that I didn't come to him sooner.
Michael represented my wife and I in obtaining our security deposit back from the landlord on a house we rented in New York City. Michael was very persistent and the landlord's attorney finally settled with him and returned our deposit. I'm extremely grateful for Michael's assistance and responsiveness during our time of need!
I have know Michael since 2010. I first went to Michael for help resolving a difficult management issue at our Condo Association. He was very knowledgeable about the inner workings of the by-laws and master deed which was incredibly helpful when we could not get the correct answers from others. My wife and I hired him again to represent us for our closing which went very smooth and Michael kept us informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend him for any complicated real estate issues. Michael Fourte is also of the highest moral character. I trust him and take him at his word.
While Michael Fourte practices in several areas he is a highly regarded expert in real estate, finance, construction and military matters. He has litigated matters at the municipal, state and federal and appellate level.
Real Estate Matters. He is one of the few attorney's licensed in New Jersey who holds a New Jersey Broker's License and who is licensed by the State of New Jersey to teach the New Jersey pre-licensing and continuing education courses of instruction in Real Estate and Title Insurance.
Financial Matters. Michael holds and MBA with a concentration in Information Systems. One of his first real estate finance cases, just one year out of law school, Fourte v. Countrywide, was filed on behalf of all servicemembers who were discriminated against by the now defunct Countrywide Home Loans. The case resulted in a published opinion in the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey. 2009 WL 2998110 (U.S. Dist. Ct. D. N.J. 2009). Since then Michael has handled cases involving other major banks and credit unions.
Technical Matters. Michael also holds an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) accredited Computer Science degree from the United States Naval Academy. He was the National Society of Black Engineer’s Keynote Speaker for the NSBE Region I conference in 2011 in Hauppauge, New York. Michael has also represented construction contractors and professional engineers against Building Code Officials and Municipalities both in Superior Court and the County Construction Boards of Appeal.
Military and Veteran Matters. Michael is a proud Veteran of the United States Navy where he has served in the reserves for over 20 years. Michael holds the rank of Commander which is a Senior Military Officer and equivalent to a Lieutenant Colonel. Michael has commanded both active duty and reserve servicemembers.
