I had the pleasure of working with Matt during his time as a law clerk at the Coleman Law Firm. From day one, I was impressed by his professionalism and commitment to his work. I could count on Matt to effectively assist with whatever I needed. He worked on trial prep, document review, and multiple filings for me and always did a great job. His legal research is excellent. I especially appreciated that Matt regularly updated me regarding his progress on larger projects. He was quick to point out issues and worked very well by himself or as part of a larger team. I think Matt would make a great addition to any litigation team.
I had the luck of being able to bring Matt on board as an intern for two summers while I was running Atlas Material Testing Solutions. The great things about Matt were his flexibility, willingness to do anything, a quick learner and his ability to step up to bigger responsibilities quickly. The first summer there Matt helped draft advertising materials for several of the Weather-Ometers, turned all of the paper files in the engineering department and human resources department into electronic files that were accessible on the computer database, and assisted with sales calls and organized information for the sales team in Microsoft Excel sheets. This was a huge help for both of those departments. The following summer Matt worked primarily in the purchasing department where he researched the parts database and corresponded with the purchasing team and machine assemblers to determine what parts were needed and then created spreadsheets for orders. By mid-summer he was calling the part suppliers himself and placing large orders for the department. His strengths led him to take charge of maintaining the status quo in the purchasing department while the manager was on vacation. He did so well with this that the manager had him sitting in on supplier meetings and negotiating price reductions saving the company money. If I had the opportunity to bring Matt on board to my current company I would not hesitate.
