Matt ranks in the top five smartest software engineers with whom I have ever worked. He can see the big picture and the details. He learns and implements very fast. He is socially stable and consistent. He also has good business judgment. It is pleasant to work with him.

In the four years Matt and I worked at the same company, I saw Matt successfully take on a huge range of projects - from applied research work leading to patentable discoveries, to web apps, to system administration.
