My family found ourselves in a very tricky situation. Our daughter was pregnant by her college boyfriend. He and his family were insistent on an abortion. At the time, Mary could not be hired as she was working for the court system but she came and visited with my husband, daughter and me providing excellent counsel on ways to avoid further bullying, while also making sure that she set our daughter up for being the best Mom she could be. Her counsel and guidance gave all of us confidence to work through the challenging situation from pregnancy thru a micro premie delivery and thru 9 weeks of being in the NICU. Our daughter was able to handle with grace and confidence any challenge that came from the father. Mary guided us to an attorney that we were able to hire. Mary's referral reflected her understanding of what our daughter needed in an attorney...not just someone who would do anything we wanted, but provided guidance throughout the development of a signed agreement that's purpose was to do what was best for the baby in the long term, and not focus on short term frustration caused by the father and his family, Our daughter was able to get full legal and physical custody of our granddaughter, but tried to work with the father such that her daughter had a father in her life.
