I reached out to Ms. Becker for an initial consultation regarding a disciplinary matter. She spent more time with me that I would have expected on a Sunday afternoon and asked me some great questions and helped me organize my thoughts. She also suggested a number of options to explore and was upfront about the pros and cons of following through with litigation. I was extremely impressed by our initial conversation.
I highly recommend Lisa as a lawyer. She was attentive, responsive, knowledgeable, effective and kind. Lisa represented me in a divorce and property settlement case. I wanted a divorce from my spouse and the removal of my name from liability for his property - originally purchased by him in both of our names. During the divorce and separation process, my spouse continued to reside in a house which I had purchased prior to our marriage. As part of the divorce settlement, he promised to purchase the house from me so that he could continue living there. He never did go through with the purchase and actually abandoned the property - forcing me to sell it for a loss. Lisa gave me good advice, but ultimately helped me to get the resolutions that I asked for from our legal actions, even though she wanted to pursue breach-of-contract and contempt-of-court to get a better settlement for me. It took a long time, but Lisa hung in there with me all the way. I want to give her an EXCELLENT overall rating but the best rating this website survey will allow is the "good" rating. My only distress about the whole experience is that the opposing side caused me a great deal of financial hardship, anxiety, and a whole lot of wasted time. I am very glad that the process is over.
As a divorce financial analyst, I work with a lot of lawyers. Lisa fits into a special category. I say this because she is extremely client-centered and settlement oriented. I have tremendous respect for Lisa's combination of intellect, negotiation skills, and commitment to the best interests of her clients rather than her billable hours. Although she sees the big picture and is settlement minded, she is fair, but nonetheless a force to reckon with. She holds her own among the best of them because she is one of the best of them. You may not want to need Lisa's service, but rest assured, you will be glad she is on your side. I have personally experienced all of these attributes working on cases with Lisa, and I have heard the same affirmations from her clients.
Lisa has represented a client in a collaborative divorce case and I have been impressed with her understanding of the clients emotional needs and personality as well as her ability to translate complicated legal ideas into understandable language. Working with Lisa is a pleasure. Gloria Kay Vanderhorst, Ph.D.

Lisa is fantastic. During a difficult situation, Lisa maintained focus and we arrived at a favorable outcome dispite the unreasonable approach of our opponents.
