Kristine Cummings came highly recommended by a good friend. I was in the early stages of what seemed to be a mostly amicable divorce. I met with Kristine and she thoughtfully and carefully talked me through the divorce process. It was evident in the first meeting that Kristine was highly intelligent and had a vast and concise knowledge of family law. She carefully listened and assessed the details of my personal situation and agreed to work with me. As things quickly became contentious with the other side’s aggressive lawyer, Kristine was a voice of reason; firm and direct in her insistence on “bringing the temperature down.” Throughout the process, Kristine never deviated from her commitment to what was best for my two children. She was a true advocate for the well-being of the kids, and gave me sound advise based on her knowledge of the law, as well as her years of experience with assisting other families. I never questioned her advice; in fact, it was always greatly appreciated. Kristine was great about communicating with me (sometimes at very late hours of the night). I found solace in knowing that Kristine was an email or phone call away, and always felt confident and empowered by her words and plan of action. Kristine showed that she cared about my family and that she would fight for what was fair. As a father in a court system that can favor mothers, I was assured through candid discourse, that my rights as a dad would be protected. In the end, she was correct. It is for the aforementioned reasons, among many others, and without reservation that I whole-heartedly recommend Kristine Cummings to anyone seeking representation.
Kristine worked on my contentious divorce over the course of two years. Her superior knowledge of Mass Law, professional demeanor, and patience, made a very difficult situation, tolerable. I would HIGHLY recommend Kristine, and her promotion to Partner was well deserved! Kristine was extremely patient throughout the entire process, and was always reliable and prompt. I felt educated and informed as a client, explaining the best options for me and my children. She is trustworthy, and EXTREMELY professional. One would be extremely lucky to have Kristine and Sally and Fitch LLP on their side throughout the divorce process.
I highly recommend Kristine Cummings for family law matters. A close family friend experienced a unique and complicated domestic issue that involved state family and property laws as well as federal privacy laws. The matter required immediate attention and advice. Kristine had determined a strategic direction after discussing the matter internally at the firm and socializing it to a confidential network, but circumstances changed and escalated. Kristine was remarkably cool under pressure and stuck to the well-researched approach and position despite the growing temptation to change course. Kristine was smart, strategic, knowledgable and, importantly, responsive to communications in a stressful situation and compassionate in her approach.
Kristine made navigating a difficult legal process, almost as pain-free as possible. She was readily available via email and phone, and kept me informed each step of the way. Kristine was truly compassionate throughout the process and I would be pleased to recommend her services as an attorney.
As a person, and a parent, faced with resolving modification, custody and financial issues with a recalcitrant foe through the Probate court system, I was confronted with time consuming legal processes and obstacles, enduring confrontations that affected my children, bared continuous mendacity, underwent third party assessments and experienced total disruption of a normal life routine. Through this experience I came to witness that Kristine has a full and extensive knowledge of the Probate Court System labyrinth, as she confidently guided me through the legal processes and obstacles that stood before me. She set my expectations so that I understood what each step would be and what to expect from each step. Kristine listened, empathized and supported me through the emotionally stressful process. She gave me insight, direction and hope, which allowed me to continue moving forward each day. Kristine effectively and efficiently outlined, presented and argued my case to the court, my foe's attorney and my fractious foe. Kristine's calm, persistent and determined demeanor enabled a reasonable settlement to be obtained. She worked diligently to author the settlement with wording that would address the situations that had been experienced and those which could reasonably be expected. It is my experience that Kristine will thoughtfully, caringly and energetically guide her client through the probate court system labyrinth, empathetically support their personal angst and calmly negotiate a positive long term resolution they can live with.
Kristine is one of the very rare, shining examples of the sort of consummately professional, caring, and thoughtful attorneys that very sadly, are uncharacteristic of Probate and Family Law. While unwittingly engaged in an exceedingly atavistic and hostile post-divorce and custody situation with an uncooperative and unrelenting ex-spouse, Kristine was able to use her superior negotiation powers to calm the waters and create mutual discourse. (It is important to note that four attorneys prior had failed to achieve similar success.) Kristine has gone out of her way at every point to clearly communicate and keep me informed. She has also persistently provided the insight needed to see "around the corners" of our Napoleonic Massachusetts Probate System - which, as any Mass. Father can attest, seems more like a trip through The Looking Glass [Tim Burton version] rather than Civil Logic 101. Throughout all of this, Kristine has stood steadfastly by, shielding me - her client - from the worse of the Byzantine brutality, and has helped my ex-spouse and myself to eek - albeit somewhat grudgingly - towards eventual closure. I highly recommend Kristine as an excellent and thorough Family Attorney and hope to continue my relationship with her for some time to come.
I had the good fortune of working with Kristine recently on a litigated matter. She is hard-working, persistent, and practical. Kristine demonstated a strong grasp of the law, as well as a thorough understanding of the pertinent facts of our case. At all times, she was prepared for meetings and hearings, but open to reasonable settlement suggestions. I highly recommend her.
Kristine Ann Cummings is one of the most committed attorneys I have worked worked with to date; she is a very hard worker and extremely good at keeping me (the client) informed. Kristine was amazingly thorough and creative in her search for cases relevant to my own. I found Kristine very capable of keeping me focused on each step of the process which I considered to be quite daunting. Though Kristine is empathic, her ability to keep the broader perspective in focus for me was extremely helpful. Kristine was a very calming and empowering presence as I went through the legal process that involved very personal aspects of my life. I find Kristine to be that rare combination of kind, hard working and of unquestionable integrity. I would highly recommend Kristine, and I do believe one would be fortunate to engage her services.
