Recently I owned a hotel and sold it at a loss. I had owned it for over 30 years. It had been attached to a marital dissolution agreement over 2 decades that did state if it sold and had a net profit then a percentage would go to the former husband. His attorney contacted us with manipulative and threatening language attempting to collect unjustly since the property sold at a loss. Kent and I researched the criteria as to all deductions that were allowed and did confirm the loss and disclosed the loss. WE have not heard further from the opposing team. Kent was quick to draw up the papers and was thorough. I recommend him. I paid for his consultation and hire for the letters sent.
My 14 year old son and I joined a nationally known fitness center. They had a location that was convenient to our home and they have great facilities. Unfortunately, I had to have two heart surgeries within 5 months. After the second surgery, it was necessary for me to discontinue our membership with them. However the corporate office didn't stop the automatic drafts from my account for the next 4 months. The only option my bank offered was to close the account and open a new account, which I did. The following month, I began receiving weekly phone calls, emails, and letters from the corporate office. I explained why I had to terminate my membership and when I had done so with their same facility where I had opened my membership. They didn't seem to care about anything except money and within a couple of months, they were contacting me daily to try to get access to my new account. I let them know in writing that if they didn't quit harassing me, that I would seek legal counsel. I also asked that if they truly cared about me (as they claimed), then why was there no contact with me during the 4 months after the surgery up until I had closed the checking account? During that time, neither my son nor I had once used their facility, which they knew because each member's use of the facilities is also tracked. After they failed to heed my written warning: I contacted Kent Jones. He wrote a letter to the company and sent it to them after allowing me to review it. That was almost 3 months ago and I have not heard anything from them since. My only regret is not having contacted Kent Jones about 5-6 months sooner.
I have known Kent for many years. In my experience, he is both highly ethical and extremely competent. He also cares for his clients and makes every effort to successfully achieve their goals.
