About

Kelly L. Vasta, a founding member of Nield, Delpierre & Vasta PLC, represents her clients in the seven cities of Southside Hampton Roads and beyond, including Northampton and Williamsburg/James County, Virginia.  She focuses her practice in the areas of criminal defense, traffic, juvenile criminal defense, family law and personal injury and wrongful death cases.  Ms. Vasta is originally from the white mountains of New Hampshire; however, she has grown up in Virginia Beach since moving here when she was a young girl.  Losing her Dad at an early age, she was raised by her strong and independent mother.  She raised Ms. Vasta to be a kind, compassionate and caring individual who stands up for those without a voice.  As a trial lawyer, Ms. Vasta employs those lifelong advocacy skills to zealously represent her clients in the courtroom and through all stages of litigation. As an attorney, she is a born problem solver, taking on any size project and finding creative solutions for her clients.  As a person, she has become a trusted counselor, guiding her clients through the most difficult of times and assisting clients in their future needs.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Vasta spent over a decade working in the insurance defense industry in a variety of positions, but most notably as a litigation examiner in the claims department.  This has given her first hand knowledge and a rich understanding of the personal injury process, which allows her to effectively and efficiently handle her clients’ personal injury and wrongful death legal matters.

Before becoming a founding member of Nield, Delpierre & Vasta, PLC, Ms. Vasta worked for Jon M. Babineau, PC as an associate attorney in Norfolk, Virginia.  Ms. Vasta also had the opportunity to intern at various locations including a private practice firm and Virginia Legal Aid Society during law school at Regent University School of Law.
Ms. Vasta currently resides in Virginia Beach with her daughter who is an avid equestrian.  Ms. Vasta spends her free time with her daughter and their horse out at the barn in Pungo, Virginia.  They are both active in the community as they volunteer together for Untamed Spirit, a Therapeutic Riding Program for Children and Adults with Special Needs.  Ms. Vasta is also active in the legal community as she is a member of the American Inn of Courts, James Kent Chapter; Virginia Women’s Attorney Association and serves on the Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court’s Citizen’s Advisory Council.
