Justin was great to work with. Our Chapter 11 Restructure Case was somewhat complex, multiple lenders and properties, some were in the case and some where outside of the case. Justin knew just how to structure things to keep us sane during all the ups and downs. Would definitely recommend him for having patience and being easy to work with. Very knowledgeable on Real Estate Law and Bankruptcy. He always did very well in court; even on days when we were unsure if things would go in our favor but they always did and everything worked out for the better. Life is much less stressful now and we truly appreciate all Justin and the entire team at Kerkman & Dunn did for us!
Justin told me what to expect from the start. He is very knowledgable with Chapter 11. If your business is heading in this direction, I would highly recommend Justin Mertz to take on your case. Justin helped restructure nearly $4M in loans and enabled me to shed $1.5M of non-profitable assets through a chapter 11 proceeding. I am now profitable and able to pay back my creditors. Thank you Justin.
Justin has a quick legal mind with top-notch analytical skills. Moreover, he was always a pleasure to work with as a result of his gentle sense of humor and ready smile.
My practice is focused on the areas of Business Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Business Litigation, Creditor/Debtor Negotiation, and other General Business work, oftentimes within the context of Chapter 11 Reorganizations. I assist companies that are in need of financial restructuring--whether in or outside of bankruptcy court--and help them to continue operating and preserve their assets and assemble a business plan that will allow them to succeed.
I also deal with matters involving general business litigation, commercial leasing, non-compete agreements, LLC and business formation, foreclosure and out-of-court workout cases, estate planning, real estate transactional work, and taxation issues involving distressed real estate.
Outside of the office, I enjoy many of the things Milwaukee has to offer: running and biking by the lakefront, attending MSO and broadway shows at the Marcus Center, cheering on Marquette at the Bradley Center, and enjoying the many farmers markets and community events througout the season. I have previously served on the Board of my downtown condo building and have been involved with the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association.
