I had an opportunity to observe Julia Wobbe in court: 1. interaction with clients: Julia had an excellent demeanor with our clients. She prepared herself regarding the their case before she spoke to them. She was courteous, knowledgeable re the issues in their cases, patient yet led the conversation. I never heard any negative feed back from the clients regarding her. 2. interaction with DA. Julia's had great negotiation skills because she took time to read the cases and familiarize herself with the law. When she disagreed with the offer, she was not shy about approaching the DA and explaining why the DA should consider another offer. I also saw her approach the bench to argue for a better offer and in many cases she was successful. 3. Motions Julia argued a number of motions and was successful. I strongly believe that her success was because of her poise, her knowledge and her ability to communicate the facts and apply the law in a manner that the judge had no choice but to agree. What was most interesting to me was that at the end of her argument, she had also convinced the DA (Sylvia Feliz) I hope that you get to meet her and I am sure that you will be as impressed with her abilities as a public defender as I was.
