I started my case against my employer with Ms. Friedman and she assured me repeatedly that it was worthwhile and that we would have good results. However, I would have to send her detailed and frequent e-mails to get her to move on the case. After several months, and tens of thousands of dollars later, we were not very far into my case, and not even before a judge!!! After it became apparent that I could not afford more than the $60,000 I already gave her to move forward, she dumped me as a client. I was on my own to find another lawyer to sort out the mess. For a few thousand more, another lawyer was able to get me out of the case for 2/3rds the fees that I paid Friedman and her cohorts at Tully Rinkey, and I have a net loss of $25,000. Had Ms. Friedman been up front with me that my case was not very strong, I would not have proceeded and I would be FAR better off.
I was very pleased with Joanna Friedman as my legal representative. She was knowledgeable, honest, and straight forward in all aspects of my case. I was confident that any issues brought to her attention would be addressed and resolved quickly. She was respectful and mindful of my personal life and well being throughout a very stressful period as well. I would highly recommend her for any future clients that desire a representative who is about handling business in an agressive, but utmost professional manner.
I worked with Joanna in a clerical assistant capacity at Wagner, Falconer & Judd., in Milwaukee, WI. She was always nice and a go getter. I remember she wanted to do more in her field and go back to school. She did exactly what she wanted to do and has grown since. I admire her for doing what she set out to do and accomplishing it.

Joanna has represented federal employees in agencies such as the Defense Intelligence Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Naval Intelligence Office, and National Reconnaissance Office, as well as federal contractors located in the DC metro area. Joanna has had great success in settling EEOC and MSPB case matters through her aggressive litigation approach.
Before joining The Federal Practice Group, Joanna was a partner in another employment law firm where she co-chaired their EEOC Practice Group. Prior to this affiliation she represented federal employees at a Washington, D.C.-based employment law firm. In addition to her significant federal employment litigation experience, she also has substantial courtroom experience representing individuals charged with criminal law offenses while working with a private criminal law defense firm, as well as a private bar attorney for the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office.
