I've worked with Jane many, many times on real estate transactions and she has always been professional and efficient. I highly recommend her for anyone doing real estate closings.
Paid $250 Consultation regarding saving home. Told me all the great miraculous things she could do and for a hefty retainer. Never once did she say the statute of limitations had long ran out. She just continued to brag that she worked for the foreclosing firm and had contacts and could handle the matter with ease -and not to worry anymore they would do the worrying for me. I paid the retainer. Never heard anything for 2 weeks. A foreclosure sale date was approaching -No Jane. She took the money and went on vacation. I had to file my own paperwork to stall the foreclosure. 2 weeks later I emailed Jane again (several attempts) only to learn she was leaving her own firm for another firm down the street. Why leave your own law firm? A new client she just met with -why didn't she say she was leaving the firm then? I told her to take my case with her and she refused. Why? I assume the money was spent on that vacation she took at the last minute. My husband called after I told him this news in her emails and demanded the retainer to be sent back to our account. We knew then by her actions and lack of communication she was a con artist! Now I have had to contact the Asheville PD and the State Bar about her actions and the actions of her husband. This firm ate that hefty retainer paid to them in 2 weeks. An entire court file with 200+ pages and there is nothing in the entire court file from this firm. Nothing. Stay away from Ms. Soboleski -especially at her new firm. I had contacted Ms Soboleski at her new firm about moving my case and she came back with an excuse that her new firm didn't want to handle matters in this specific county/area. I had an attorney friend call and ask if they could handle a matter for him in this same county -a call the next day informed him they'd be happy to help but for a higher fee due to travel. I do not think anything truthful has ever came out of Ms Soboleski's mouth. She is a con artist taking advantage of people in vulnerable and stressful situations trying to keep their automobiles and homes. Read the other reviews of Ms Soboleski and her firm online -I'm not the only person she had duped and used. They range all over the state of NC. Apparently they are advertising outside of Asheville NC due to the bad reputation in Buncombe Co for the treatment of clients. I was approached one day after picking up my file in the parking lot by a lady who worked there who told me several interesting things. 1 that the positive comments on the websites perfectly worded were from the Soboleski's themselves or very close friends in order to make them look professional. There are many great attorneys out there who are there to help people not use them and abuse them in a stressful and financial hardship. Stay away from Soboleski Jane and her husband -and the jr attorney with the thing growing out of her head. They are all con artists using retainers to pay their overdue bills and payroll rather than earn the money for a living. If you are already dealing with this firm -get your money out and run as far away as you can to a nonprofit agency that helps people. Mr Tom A who has posted many items online about this same firm -please call the Asheville PD and file a Police Report. I think the more cases that come in there the better our chances are to see some of our funds back.

Jane Dearwester began her career as a real estate closing attorney. She spent her early years helping people close on the purchase of their homes and property. At some point, by necessity, her passion changed from helping ensure the sales of property, to helping people protect their property through financial crisis brought on by national recession.
Jane’s consumer protection practice revolves around helping people maintain their property through defense of foreclosure actions, exposing fraudulent banking and finance practices and loan modification. The loss mitigation portion of that practice includes negotiation of short sales and deeds in lieu of foreclosure, as well as other consumer financial matters that fall under the governance of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act (ITADA), and the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act (CARD Act). Each of these laws govern credit, debt and product performance in favor of protecting consumers of at the federal level.
Jane is passionate about helping her clients overcome financial strife. She is a dauntless advocate for the best outcome possible to meet her client’s future goals. Unveiling the wrong action of financial institutions to the benefit of the people they mistreat is her favorite success.
