I managed Dennis in a start-up all-news radio station, and from day one he became one of a handful of go-to reporters that I relied on to report on breaking stories from the scene. Dennis has the street smarts that show he's the son of a Chicago cop, coupled with the brains of a lawyer and a heart of gold. His calm demeanor reminds me that still waters run deep, because you can keep going to Dennis for more, more, more, and when you think you must have exhausted him, he digs a little deeper. And if you want a laugh, ask him sometime about his first day under my command :) Did I mention, we laughed a lot?
There are many people who say they are professionals in the public relations business, but there are few, very few, who have actually lived through the highs and lows; the easy and tough calls; the hard and painful--as Dennis has, and done so with integrity and talent. There is nothing worse than being under seige, but there is nothing more rewarding than having a steady hand to help move beyond the crisis of the moment, to make a positive difference in the long run. That Dennis has done and more. He is very bright, intelligent and quick to understand the nuances, as well as the bigger picture. Positive or negative; defensive or offensive, I would trust Dennis to give you great advice.
