  As both his long-time friend and supervisor, I have watched David develop both academically and socially into a mature individual ready in every way for any challenges that may face him. He has the unusual ability to establish goals and to stay on task until the work is finished. David is a bright, energetic, compassionate and genuinely well rounded person. He is active in his community and because of his self-respect, his love of family and his devotion to the community and country, he serves as a positive role model for young people, peers and associates. As his supervising attorney in the Army National Guard, I am familiar with the work and dedication that David has exhibited throughout his six year military career. His exceptional work ethic and sincere care for his colleagues were best exhibited in the high-stress environment of our deployment to Iraq in 2004-2005. His proven ability to handle high intensity situations commend him to the most arduous work environments. As a personal friend, I am familiar with the financial hardship which David and his family have endured. His career as a law enforcement officer has not been the most lucrative profession, but David has exhibited unfaltering dedication and loyalty to his commitments as a police officer, husband and father.
