Daniel Crossman Perry is a superb lawyer who avoids litigation when possible; when he must go to trial, he wins cases with the merest flick of his intellect and experience. I have seen him turn in stellar performances not only in his usual field--land use cases--but also in a broad range of general litigation--including the winning of a very complex case involving a pension fund that left opposing counsel bewildered and scratching her head. I have personally witnessed naughty government officials *tremble* while being cross-examined by Dan. His one weakness is that he can, at times, be closed-mouthed and hard to reach. I spent seventeen thousand dollars in legal fees involving a residential condominium in Boston, where a large, famous Boston firm had been hired. This was only because Dan was unavailable; he would have resolved the case with equal skill and one-third the fee. Do not hesitate to bring to Dan your estate planning needs--trusts, wills, and health care proxies--as well. Dan has *literally* written the book on one of the most obscure and difficult areas of legal practice in Massachusetts--property lawyers across the state reach for his treatise on the Subdivision Control Law, which he wrote for the august MCLE (Massachusetts Commission for Legal Education). Dan's partner Marc Deshaies is an excellent lawyer as well. Judges--especially prickly, hard-to-please Superior Court Judges--know Dan, trust him, and like him. This guy is power you definitely want in your corner. In the areas of complex litigation, property, and land use, this gentleman is as good a lawyer as anyone in Boston for 50% the fee.
Daniel C. Perry is a superb and versatile lawyer. With efficiency and skill, he can create a estate plan, provide for the use of land and other real property, give shrewd counsel to a business, and both prosecute and defend any complex litigation that might come before him. Any august firm in Boston would be thrilled to count Mr. Perry as partner, but he has chosen to remain the best lawyer in SouthCoast Massachusetts, continuing the firm his late father created. Dan is not a criminal lawyer, and I have not known him to handle divorces, though his partner Amy S. Mello may do that. Time and again I have seen Dan successfully (and efficiently) navigate the shoals of a complex litigation. It was not until I hired a large Boston firm to handle a minor dispute with a neighbor--which it was happy to handle with three lawyers and a total bill of seventeen thousand dollars--that I came fully to appreciate Dan's skill and professionalism. Dan's partner Marc R. Deshaies is an excellent attorney, as well.
Daniel C. Perry is the sole member of Perry Hicks, LLC. He has been employed by the firm since 1983. He graduated from Pomona College in 1973 and Boston University School of Law in 1978, cum laude, where he was Note and Case Editor of the Boston University Law Review. Before joining Perry, Hicks and Deshaies, Mr. Perry was an associate at the Boston law firm, Foley, Hoag & Eliot for five years. Mr. Perry concentrates in land use law, business law, estate planning and wealth management.
