Courtney is an amazing lawyer. She was confident and upfront with every aspect of our case. She had no problem letting us know what would and wouldn't be accepted by the courts. She worked with another very difficult attorney and was able to facilitate a working partnership to resolve our issues and come to an amicable resolution. Very honest and trustworthy and an all around amazing person and lawyer.
Courtney is knowledgeable on all aspects of the divorce; from contemplating-divorce to post-divorce legalities. She worked hard for me and made the process as painless as possible.
Courtney did a great job analyzing difficult legal topics for us. We were able to use her legal research and analysis to make important strategic decisions for our clients. In addition, she reviewed tens of thousands of e-discovery documents for us over the course of several months. She is very conscientious about her work and is a real asset to any firm she works with.
Courtney is one of the sweetest and smartest individuals I've ever met! She is truly a delight to work with!
Courtney Kaisand is the hardest working attorney I know. She has dedication to her work and demonstrated responsibility when it comes to any matter under her direction. Courtney has impressed me with her positive attitude, intelligence and can-do spirit.
What I do:
I focus exclusively on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, modification, enforcement, and pre- and post-marital agreements. I am also regularly court-appointed to advocate for the best interest of children.
I understand that I am meeting my new clients during what is often the worst time of their lives. Heartbreak, betrayal, tears, anger, profound sadness, fear, worry, confusion, feeling out of control... I see all of this and treat my clients well, with caring and warmth, while still remaining their vigilant, no-nonsense advocate. I know that clients want an expeditious, favorable resolution to their case, and I do my best to deliver. I am also shrewd and realistic and tell my clients what they need to hear, even if it isn't always what they want to hear.
How my practice differs:
There are a lot of good attorneys to choose from, but some of the things that set me apart are accessibility, flexibility, and diligence.
My team and I are responsive and committed to making you feel heard and to addressing your concerns as quickly as possible.
I have a flexible litigation style. We can adopt a very cooperative approach when you want to expend as little financial and emotional capital as possible, or we can adopt a much more aggressive approach depending on the facts of your case. No two cases are identical, so it's important to have an attorney who doesn't have a one-size-fits-all approach to cases. Not every case requires a bulldog, but some cases do call for a heavy hand instead of a soft touch.
I am diligent. I am detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture and am well-prepared. Your pleadings will be well-reasoned and precise. When I communicate or file documents on your behalf, those items will be well-written. When I appear in court on your behalf, my conduct will be professional and my arguments sound and as effective as possible.
Background information:
I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston with a double major in English (concentrating in linguistics) and psychology. I then graduated in the top 25% of my class from South Texas College of Law. While at South Texas, I interned at the South Texas College of Law Legal Clinic where I provided family law services to low-income clients and was awarded the Pro Bono Honors Designation for dedicating extra time to the Legal Clinic. I also received the American Jurisprudence Award for earning the highest grade in my Research and Writing class. In addition to practicing law, I have spent many years as an adjunct instructor, teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages at Lone Star College – North Harris.
I have lived in Spring, Texas since 1984. I was a classical singer in college and still enjoy singing.
