I contacted Cory to update my will. It was out of date and important things were missing from my will. I needed a complete revamp. I met Cory through his boss who is a friend of mine. I must say it has been an amazing pleasure working with him. He is the most thorough attorney I have ever worked with. He had me fill out a questionnaire and this in turn helped him understand my exact needs. I don’t think I really understood how desperate I was to correct this will until I met Cory. He pointed out some VERY important issues I had missed in the last version of my will and set me up nicely. At the end of the day, all my needs were met and my will is explicit and thorough. I am EXTREMELY happy with the service he has provided and am glad he’s my estate attorney. I would highly recommend Cory to anyone looking for an awesome estate attorney. An added benefit to having him as my attorney is that he’s Christian. And he acts like one. What more could a gal ask for? Thank you Cory for representing me and for making things right.

About

Cory Howes brings to his work both education and practice in the law, as well as a keen financial mind developed from his experience advising individuals and business in the areas of tax, investments and insurance, and employee benefits. A native North Carolinian, Cory earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wake Forest University and embarked upon a career as a financial advisor and employee benefits consultant. At the onset of his career, Cory assisted individuals and families with financial planning, insurance, and investments. He also worked with companies to design and implement employee benefits programs, as well as executive compensation plans. After working for several years in collaboration with a variety of attorneys, Cory caught the legal bug and went back to school at the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.After beginning his legal career at a litigation firm in Raleigh, Cory founded Howes Law, PLLC, focusing on Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration, and Business Planning. In August of 2016, Howes Law merged with the Forrest Firm—a certified B corporation serving entrepreneurs, executives, and their families—where Cory leads the firm’s estate law practice. Cory is a member of WealthCounsel, LLC, a national organization of estate and business planning attorneys who freely share their knowledge and experience. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, and the Wake County Estate Planning Council.
