  As a Squad Leader Bob was the in the position of both the chain of command, and the NCO support channel. He was the first line leader and supervised 8 of Soldiers. There is nothing that happens at the squad level that he is not directly involved in, or aware of. Bob had to know each member of his team inside and out because he was responsible for all training, awards, discipline and other aspects of military life of his troops. Bob also had to know his Soldiers, strengths and weaknesses, in order him to most effectively utilize their talents and build the strongest team possible.

  Bob Maher and I served together in the Virginia Army National Guard as Noncomissioned Officers. I can say that Bob is a man of great character, consciencious, and a hard worker. As a squad leader, he was respected by his men and fellow NCO's and his supervisors. Bob is a great leader and a self-starter. Give him an idea and he will run with it. Bob is one of the smartest most honest guys I know and I would highly recommend him.
