Ashley Smith is an exceptional Family Law Attorney. Ashley was empathetic and compassionate throughout the separation process and divorce proceedings. I felt extremely confident in sharing personal information during a difficult time. Her professionalism and time management were executed at the highest level. She was amazing, she was able to give me the information I needed and was straight forward about what was possible regarding my son. She has made me feel confident in knowing that father's have just as much legal rights to kids as moms. If I need legal help regarding anything further I will be contacting her again for sure.

I had the opportunity to work with Ashley while she was completing her third year at Campbell Law School. Ashley was invaluable to me in preparing a CLE manuscript and presentation on current issues in criminal law. Ashley was always eager to learn new aspects of the law and the court system. She is a hard worker and follows through with assignments. Ashley also has great people skills. She was very well liked by all of the clients and they still ask about her. Having followed up with Ashley recently as a practicing attorney I can tell she is quickly mastering many legal concepts. I would recommend her as a highly competent attorney who genuinely cares about her clients.

About

Ashley R. Smith was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. She grew up in Asheville and Statesville. Ms. Smith graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University with a degree in Political Science in 2008. Ms. Smith received her JD from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University.
Academic Honors, Awards and Experience:
While in law school, Ms. Smith competed in the Moot Court Competition and placed in the top 16 teams. She also received a book award in Property II. Ms. Smith attended summer school Europe where she studied International Criminal Law and International Civil Litigation. Also during law school, Ms. Smith interned as a legislative aide for the Government Policy and Regulatory Affairs Branch of Moore and Van Allen, PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her final semester, Ms. Smith interned at the Law Office of Devon A. Glick in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she received training in criminal law and was published for an article on Current Issues in Criminal Law by HalfMoon presentations.
Prior Work Experience:
In 2011, Ms. Smith started a practice in Raleigh, North Carolina where she quickly developed a repuation as a tenacious litigator who fought for her clients. In August of 2012 based upon her reputation and success in Raleigh, the Speaks Law Firm recruited Ms. Smith to head their family law division in Wilmington. She moved to Wrightsville Beach. Ms. Smith concentrates her work on litigation, including Family Law and Civil Litigation.
